Construction

Construction is a high risk industry and  consequently enforcement authorities, including the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), pay particular attention to the risks associated with this type of environment. In addition, Principal Contractors are becoming much tougher with their sub-contractors with regard to safety at work. Vision Safety can assist you with all aspects of Construction HSE and have extensive strength of depth in this area.

Having a strong health & safety management culture will assist small construction firms to secure business opportunities. Companies employ us to assist with the requirements of a scheme such as CHAS &/or Construction Line, to satisfy safety at work legislation documentation & provide evidence of a safety culture.

Small business owners cannot afford a full time health & safety manager nor do they have the time to get involved in detailed legislative requirements themselves. Outsourcing your health & safety function is the only cost effective way to stay within the law & become known by your Principal Contractors as a low risk. In turn, this increases the likelihood of your company winning more contracts.

During the early stages of our assistance, a full & detailed review of your existing documentation, systems & procedures is undertaken. Our assistance programme is tailored to suit your organizational needs, either by working alongside your internal health & safety manager or acting as your “competent person” under the terms of the legislation. Site inspection anywhere in the UK, including safety walks are undertaken which identify any areas of concern. Using our regular visits, our consultants are able to provide coaching to your staff on how to address health & safety issues.

 Construction Site Safety

(reword) Our Consultants feel construction site safetyinspections are an essential part of monitoring the construction process and ensuring safe working of contractors. Our team of health and safety consultants can either perform an advisory or complianceg role (dependant on client need), offer help and support to the contractor, as well as liaising with designers/consultants/enforcement officers as necessary.

Construction site safetyinspections enable a client to demonstrate that they are meeting their legal duty in respect of ensuring there are effective management arrangements in place for a construction project including welfare facilities. Our construction site safety consultants will provide on-going monitoring, assessment and support for the practical application of health and safety on a project.

It is crucial to remember that construction site safety inspections should not be regarded as just a policing role, although there are times when this is appropriate. Our clients are encouraged to be seen offering help and support to the on-site contractor.

 Construction Health and Safety Management

Our Construction Health and Safety Management Consultants are able to provide a suite of construction health and safety management information reports that can be used to both monitor and manage health and safety performance. The reports enable the client to focus on individual areas of performance.
Safety Management Services are able to produce a number of reports which reflect the Health and Safety standards on site, this is then intended to give the client a clear understanding of the health and safety management performance of their site teams and contractors. This allows clients to manage quickly and clearly the application and improvement of health and safety through all the parties involved in their site activities.
Our Construction Health and Safety Management reports enables the client to demonstrate compliance with their legal duty to check the competence and resources of the contractors they appoint on an ongoing basis.

For organisations who are outsourcing works to specialist contractors we are able to relieve you of the burden of the CDM Core Criteria stage 1 assessments. We can complete the assessment process on your behalf and provide the contractors with the required assistance, ensuring H&S compliance. Competent contractors will be provided with a certificate and we will provide your organisation with suitable updates to enable only approved contractors to be used from your database. The cost of this service is met by the contractor.

Additionally we are also experienced in completing Safety Schemes in Procurement assessments (CHAS, SAFEcontractor or Worksafe Contractor etc). Due to this experience we are able to guarantee successful certification
